my tiny tokyo room tour + living in japan vlog | sending mommy home, getting into a routine

february 16, 2025 · episode 4 of 38

what actually happened

going a little crazy not having a routine. the hardest thing, surprisingly, has been finding a gym. i found two near the share house but in japan you need indoor shoes, so i had to buy shoes before i could even go.

muji haul, and yes i unpacked everything even though i might be moving, because i was going to crash out if anything stayed out of order in a space that small. magnetic hooks on everything, muji bins that fit the closet almost perfectly, a blanket because it was freezing. honestly i could live in this room for a while. it's the shared shower that gets me.

mom's last day. dropped her at the airport and then i'm all alone. i'm going to be so real, i laid on the bed and scrolled tiktok for hours before i had the courage to go out. then i went to muji and donki, got shabu shabu, and did my first night officially in the share house.

wong got back to me: my case is still in the owner's inspection but the plan is to start the housing contract on the 8th. that sounds like i have it, right? i'm not moving all this stuff by myself. i'm hiring a mover.

first gym session back, at a community training facility, 140 yen a visit, staff spoke english, my name in katakana on the card. then the share house emailed about noise. someone complained because my next door neighbor and i brushed our teeth at the same time at 11:03pm. we weren't even talking. i was flabbergasted. i'm sorry. whatever. i'm moving.
